We were informed we could not leave the Netherlands because the water level was too low and traffic on the river was now restricted to cargo ships. So, we are off to see “à pretty little town” not too far away and dock near by in Ledystat. Then, we all boarded a tender to get to the “pretty little town” of Enkhuizen. The water level is pretty low and there are many beaches are along the river now.
We arrive and begin our walk through the town. It is not a tourist town but there were other ships that had to detour like Viking had to so we did see other tour groups besides ours in town that day. I have a feeling the residents are aware of the cruise ships problems and have seen tourists more recently.
It was a fishing town but now it feels like a sailing town based on all the ships in the harbors.

This area is nicknamed “Little Venice.”
Our guide wanted us to figure out the story illustrated by the Rebus on this doorway but she felt we couldn’t see it all to be able to figure it out because of the repair work being done on it. Now I have homework to find this on the Internet and discover the story. 🤔

We didn’t feel like shopping so we watched the ducks dive for food and feed their little ones. We found blackberry bushes that were ripe enough to eat.
