Traveling on the Plane

We bought noise cancelling headphones for our last trip and have used them a lot since (mowing the grass, exercising, etc.) It is well worth getting some.

I like to travel with a sweater as the airports and planes might be a little chilly. Plus, we are traveling to a cooler climate this trip and I will be ready when we deplane.

I save an empty water bottle and bring it from home to fill up at the airport after going through the security check. Water is sold at many of the shops but $5 a bottle is a little too much when there are filling stations all over the airport. It fits easily in my backpack, and if I lose it, I don't mind. Sometimes it takes a long time for the stewards to bring drinks to the economy passengers so I like to have water available on the plane as well as at the airport.

Speaking of backpacks, I traveled last time with a small camera backpack but I couldn't fit much else in it. It was way better than carrying my camera on a strap around my neck (it gets heavy after a while). But I found I really missed my bigger backpack. It is my carry-on bag and I can pack as little or as much as I want (and there is room for a few new items I can bring back home). I don't need the big backpack on the excursions, but I do need to figure out how to carry my water bottle on my excursions.

I still like to read from a print book rather than a digital book. It is quick and easy to put away when it is time to line up to board the plane. I am a little nervous about charging my electronics at the airport based on a few articles I read on this subject so there is no capturing digital information about me from my paperback book. 😅
