Off to Barcelona, Spain

We saw a real pretty sunrise as we flew over Greenland. There is snow on the ground in Greenland but I didn’t see snow on Iceland. I didn’t realize how close Iceland is to Ireland and Scotland. I didn’t see much green in Iceland either. The airport in Iceland did have really nice bathrooms. You felt like you were at home with a toilet and sink and floor to ceiling walls. Very private.

We ate pizza for “breakfast” but it was only around 3 am our body time. By the time we would get to Barcelona and get on the ship we would miss breakfast and lunch so pizza it was. It seems airports only sell prepackaged food now (sandwiches and salads kind of thing) -even our local airport. I guess so travelers can take it on the plane with them since meals/ snacks aren’t free anymore.

In Barcelona, we did not have to go through customs. We went straight onto our ship and they x-rayed our items there. As we rode from the airport to the ship, we passed a tall hill with lots of statues - it is a cemetery. It would take a whole day to wonder through it.

The ship is fabulous! We have lots of room in our stateroom. It is like hotel size and has plenty of outlets. There are hooks on the walls so I didn’t need to metal hooks. BTW - not all cruise ships have metal walls. Metal doors is all that we have in our room.

We made it just in time for happy hour. 🍻 Then, we went for a buffet dinner. I tried snails and liked them. We were so tired after dinner but I still had to finalize out excursion for the next day (we chose to sightsee on our own) so I sat out in a lobby and organized my notes while my other half slept.

Buenos noches
