Rome. Day 2

We are on our own today to see the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain.

Found a beautiful park along our way with lots of modes of transportation. A great family park with lots of shade, open areas, statues, food vendors, playground, carousel, and even a zoo somewhere.

There were some great views from the park.

The line was tremendously long so this is the only picture we took of the Pantheon. Plus, I didn’t carry my camera today  and my phone battery was dying. We headed on to the fountain rather than wait in the long lines.

It was crowded here too but a nice couple offered to take our picture. We forgot to throw coins in the fountain.

On our way back to the hotel we stopped in (I know - I love  to visit churches) another church. The Church of St.Ignatius of Loyola at Campus Martius is a Latin Catholic titular church (assigned a cardinal deacon).

This is just a cute fountain that people drink from.

Column of the Immaculate Conception is a 19th century monument depicting the Blessed Virgin Mary. The marble base has statues of 4 biblical figures: Moses, Isaiah, King Davis, and Ezekiel. King David is the middle figure in the second picture.

It was just 135 steps here, called the Spanish Steps, to reach up to the church.

On our way back through the park we saw there was a horse competition.
