Propriano, Corsica - Swimming in the Mediterranean Sea

We had a bit of a rough evening last night. This ship ran into some rough water crossing the Mediterranean Sea to Propriano.

We woke up to a beautiful port and another day of perfect
weather. Our plans were to walk and see the church and further up the hill a cemetery. Well worth the walk uphill.

Main street I suppose.

Steps up to the church on a hill.

Isn’t this so cool. I think it is items mentioned in the Bible made into sn interesting piece of art.

The ceilings are always spectacular.

The organ in the loft.

A special tribute to Christopher Columbus.

A view of the mountains from the top of the hill where the church sits.

A view from the walk to the cemetery. We met a lady and she had just come from her morning swim in the sea. She said the water temperature was just fine so we decided this is the port where we will swim in the Mediterranean Sea.

The cemetery is very crowded but lots of little steps/ staircases to give you access to many tombs/crypts.

A view from the top of the cemetery.

Scuba diving opportunity but we passed on it.

This looks like fun - a party on the water. Too early in the season I guess as no one was out in it.

Another “party” item that wasn’t in use. It was a bit windy by the afternoon.

But we did swim in the Mediterranean Sea. It was cold to our feet but really refreshing once you got in. If it wasn’t so windy we would have spent longer in the water. Instead, we went back, had lunch, and then went in the pool and hot tub on the ship.

We watched a boat being lifted into the water.

Final view of the sailing ships in the port.
